What did you do what your old MP3 player or old mobile phones?
With more and more new models rolling out means that there are more and more numbers of obsolete models, how are you going to handle those expired models?
Electronics devices contains a lot of metals and chemicals such as lead which is not environmental friendly. It really needs to handle with care else it will be harmful to our environment. Songs downloading via internet has made us buy less from the local song’s CD stores, but it ends up with the sales boosts of empty CDs to keep our songs or data in CDs.
The only to help in this is the 4R’s. REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE and RETHINK before you buy.
I have been taking about buying “ENERGY STAR” electronics and changes of energy saving light bulbs. Here are more ways provided by MyGreenElectronics.
Unplug mobile phone or PDA chargers when batteries are fully charged or when the chargers are not in use.
Be power-wise with your PC. Most personal computers have management features that control energy use.
When you’re finished watching a movie or playing a video game, don’t forget to turn off your DVD player or video game console as well as the television itself.
Check owners’ manuals to make sure you’re taking full advantage of any energy-conservation capabilities of your electronics.
Plug electronics, such as TVs, DVD players and audio systems, into power strips, and turn the power strips off when the equipment is not in use. Just be sure to read the manual first to make sure you won’t affect the product.
Investigate home-networking and automation products and services that let you control heating, lighting and cooling from a central location in the home.
When in the market for home office products, consider a multifunction device, which combines printing, copying, scanning and faxing.
Save fuel by shopping and banking from home on your computer.

We buy mammoth numbers of
semiconductor based electronics. After few months the market has a newer model. We throw out the old one (ahh old! Its 5 months old) and get a newer model that does the same thing in almost the same way. If we think about it hard where does all the used stuff go? We are destroying out world by our own hands. Even if there is no need of that latest
motion sensor we would still go with our urge to buy new stuff. All over the world developing nations are facing dwindling
power supplies. It is time to think about it and take concrete action.
