World Environment Day 2007
Do you ever feel that the weather in Malaysia has became warmer?
Although i live in level 14th in my apartment, I can still feel that it is really hot especially in the afternoon. Melting ice issues in Atlantic & pollution in China’s Chang Jiang has become hot topic these days. We really need to take some precaution method before this problem become worsen.
5th of June 2007 was World Environment Day 2007, let’s start to preserve our mother earth nature.
You may asked, what have i done on this?
1.Preserve energy.
- I pre-set my bed room air cons for 2 hours. I did on it for the whole night long…caused really too hot, 2 hours was really my minimum tolerant…:-)
- I used energy-efficient fluorescent light (CFL) in my house. Although it’s a bit expensive compare with the normal one, but it saved my electric bills in long run.
- I used to turn my computer 24 hours. Now i switch it off when it’s not in use.
2.On my way to Say ‘No’ to plastic bags.
- As on my previous post on Save the Earth & Preserve Our Living Environment, now i have asking for less plastic bag…
3.I like plants
- i have some plants in my corridors and in my living rooms. To give some fresh air and it’s mainly for decorations…:-)
4.I practice recycle
- I kept all my old newspaper and letter for recycle purpose.
5.Car-pool?
- Everyone knows this save $$$, time and air pollutants, but it’s not practical and very inconvenience to me.
6.Pay bills online
- I practice this for years, mainly was it’s really convenience as i don’t have to go bank, but it also save paper and avoid car trips.
Was this enough? I dun think so…still there are plenty of thing can be done. If you have budget, you may go for solar power to produce your own solar energy. Heard that there is some financial incentive if your participate with solar BIPV. Find out more from Malaysia Energy Centre.
