With my previous post on 4 ways to reduce energy, let continue with another 5 simplest ways to reduce Global Warming. All the method i go through is all simple steps in our daily life which we  are able to do it, yet can reduce global warming.

5 simplest ways to reduce Global Warming

1. Drive Smart and plan your journey ahead
   Send your car for service periodically. Get your engine tuned up to help fuel efficiency and plan your journey ahead. Do not go round the island just to buy a cup of coffee. You shall be able to find it from your nearest coffee shop, Coffee Bean or Starbuck. In short, drive less or have a walk to buy your coffee will be a nice exercise for you after dinner.
2. Keep your tires inflated
   When is your last time to check your tires pressure in the nearest petrol station? Again, keep your tires inflated not only can extend the lifetime of your tires, at the sometime it save your fuel, and come to the end, it save your money as well.
3. Reuse and recycle
   You may consider use the reusable Picnic for one for your outing? Use your paper both sides? Use your own bag instead of plastic bag for your grocery, just like the Ikea case, say NO to plastic bag?
   Also to collect all your old newspaper and aluminium cans for recycle purpose.
4. Use less air conditioning
   Ya, i agreed with you that weather in Malaysia is hot, but you can always make your air con temperature higher from 22-24 degree. With this you will not feel hot and it save the electricity and also save your wallet. Pre set your air con the turn off after 3-5 hours after you slept, you will not feel that hot after you fall asleep.
5. Turn off your electricity light, TV, DVD, Computer when it’s not in use. You save a lot of electricity with this.
   

Is these 5 steps difficult to implement? I hope it don’t…remember, the initiative to save the earth shall start from us.

We are always encourage to use reusable dining set and get rid of those disposable one to save our environment.

I have seen those charity groups like Tzu Chi who always prepared their own set of reusable dining set whenever they held their activities.

With the news from Google Press, now Intel and Google will join with DELL and WWF (World Wildlife Fund) to launch Climate Savers Computing Initiative. According to the press, the Climate Savers Computing Initiative licensed its name from the WWF Climate Savers program, which involves several leading companies working to reduce their carbon footprint.

Now all the Giant Computing Companies have taken part in this and what can we do to save the climate? Can you remember what have you did to your old computer? Or even spoiled hard disk or other old electrical equipment? Did you leave your computer on for 24 hours even when it’s not in use?

4 simple ways to reduce energy

1. turn off your computer with it’s not in use
2. Set it to sleep/standby mode after 15 min is inactivity, running with screen saver will not save the energy, which can reduce the amount of energy consumed by up to 60 percent..
3. it’s advisable to use LCD monitor compared to CRT as it consume less power
4. If you are using LCD monitor, switch off you monitor when it’s not in use. Do you know that you may extent life time of your LCD by doing so? Sleep mode will turn off the display to reduce the power to most internal circuits. The result is protection again image intention and this will extend the life of the display, at the same times, it reduce energy cost with low power consumption.

Save the climate starts from each and every individual, so let’s take up our responsibility for save our mother earth. It will also save your monthly electricity bill as well…it’s a win-win situation for us right?

Do you ever feel that the weather in Malaysia has became warmer?

Although i live in level 14^th in my apartment, I can still feel that it is really hot especially in the afternoon. Melting ice issues in Atlantic & pollution in China’s Chang Jiang has become hot topic these days. We really need to take some precaution method before this problem become worsen.

5^th of June 2007 was World Environment Day 2007, let’s start to preserve our mother earth nature.

You may asked, what have i done on this?

1.Preserve energy.
- I pre-set my bed room air cons for 2 hours. I did on it for the whole night long…caused really too hot, 2 hours was really my minimum tolerant…:-)
- I used energy-efficient fluorescent light (CFL) in my house. Although it’s a bit expensive compare with the normal one, but it saved my electric bills in long run.
- I used to turn my computer 24 hours. Now i switch it off when it’s not in use.

2.On my way to Say ‘No’ to plastic bags.
- As on my previous post on Save the Earth & Preserve Our Living Environment, now i have asking for less plastic bag…

3.I like plants
- i have some plants in my corridors and in my living rooms. To give some fresh air and it’s mainly for decorations…:-)

4.I practice recycle
- I kept all my old newspaper and letter for recycle purpose.

5.Car-pool?
- Everyone knows this save $$$, time and air pollutants, but it’s not practical and very inconvenience to me. 

6.Pay bills online
- I practice this for years, mainly was it’s really convenience as i don’t have to go bank, but it also save paper and avoid car trips.

Was this enough? I dun think so…still there are plenty of thing can be done. If you have budget, you may go for solar power to produce your own solar energy. Heard that there is some financial incentive if your participate with solar BIPV. Find out more from Malaysia Energy Centre.
