Pay Increase for Civil Servants

Announcement has been made on pay increase for civil servants. Civil servants now deserved a pay increase from 7.5 per cent to 35 per cent. At the same times, they will also get a 100 per cent increase in the cost of living allowance.

This is really a great news to over 1,000,000 of civil servants, although they have been complained for their ineffectiveness by the public, they still get their pay increase. emoticon

Secondary school teachers will have an increment of 15% of their basic pay. Some of my friends who have been a teacher for several years, their basic salary will easily around 2.5k, with this increment; they are going to get an extra 375. This is still not the end yet; do you notice the news that they will also get a 100 per cent increase in the cost of living allowance? Living allowance for teachers is around 150 in average. With the 100% increment, their living allowance will be 300 now. In other words, increment for secondary school teachers will be easily around 400-500.

Hope that this rise will really ensure their improvement on productivity, and deliver services speedily as what mentioned by our PM.

Our annual appraisal is around the corner, will I get the same great news from my boss?
